Re: Book Library Document
Thu, February 23, 2006 - 11:56 AMwow... ok... very simply:
a document is what you do your layout in.
the book feature lets you build books or manage documents by giving you access to all the files in one window.
a library lets you store common elements so you can drag-n-drop them into your document instead of having to place them constantly. -

Re: Book Library Document
Wed, March 1, 2006 - 9:49 AMWOW ok duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
no seriously, ray ray,
if I have for example a group of logos that I constantly use in every ad, I can make a library of said logos and whenever I'm doing an ad for show "X" I can open the library containing all the logos for said show?
or
if I am constantly adding a text box to every ad that displays contact information, I could simply just create a library of said contact information and add it to any ad I am building by calling up the library file and droping it in?
and very simply: next time you comment try not to be soo surprised by what is obviously a question coming from someone who is new to the software. aight? -

yes...
"if I am constantly adding a text box to every ad that displays contact information, I could simply just create a library of said contact information and add it to any ad I am building by calling up the library file and droping it in? "
yes...
BUT, say you're doing a club flyer that has the same logo/info/etc. that is EXACLTY the same every time (size/placement/color), i would place that stuff on the master page so you don't have to worry about proper placement every time...

newbie or not -- ask an oblique question, get an oblique answer... i wasn't trying to be a smart-ass, i just didn't really know where to start with such an open-ended question... -

Fri, March 24, 2006 - 7:06 AMHey there!
What's really cool about the InD libraries is the "paste in place" feature. -

Re: Book Library Document
Fri, March 24, 2006 - 7:30 AMare you sure you don't mean Snippets? Libraries support the "Paste Remembers Layers" feature, but i wasn't aware that they did "Paste in Place"...

Can I ask another 'newbie' question..i"m just setting up a 36 page booklet and wondered is it better to start with the document optoin and then organize docs the book option, or is it better to start from the beginning in the book mode. -
